Support Our Centre and the Knox Athletics Track Upgrade – Sign the Petition

Jackson Taylor, Local State Labor Member, has called on the State Government to support upgrades to our much beloved and well utilised Knox Athletics Track. But needs our help

Jackson will be at training tonight from 4.45pm to talk with and seek your views on the track and what can be done to further improve the facility.

We would love to see as many Knox Little Athletes and Knox Senior Athletes in their club tops attending and supporting the call for further funding to upgrade our facility.

Jackson has also set up a petition to fight for funding from the State Government to support the future amenities and track upgrade to the Knox Athletics Precinct. The petition can be signed by going to Jackson Taylor’s website.

Knox LAC Cross Country 2022 Season Launch – Season Starts 23 April 2022

We are excited to announce that Cross Country is back.

Join in! for Season 2022

Season Starts 23th April 2022 at Knox Athletics Track, Bunjil Way Knoxfield
Program A and First Race starts 9.00am sharp

Knox Athletes: If you were registered with Knox LAC for Track and Field this season, you are already registered for Cross Country. Nothing to pay. Just bring your current number patch and be ready to run and you can wear your club or Knox centre top.

Other Centres: Registered athletes from other LAVic centres are welcome to participate at normal meets. Just bring your current number patch and check-in at the registration/recording desk so athlete details can be recorded.

New Athlete Registration and Fees
If you haven’t done Cross Country before, come and give it a try! Come to an event and see one of our volunteers at the registration/recording desk.
If you wish to join the winter cross country for the season the cost is $65 for the 12 week season. You will need to register through the Little Athletics Victoria portal. See below.

New Athletes Registration Portal
For any new athletes, you can access the registration portal by clicking below

  • When registering for the first time you will be asked to to pick a centre. Scroll through the list and choose Knox Little Athletics Centre.
  • You will then be asked to choose a club – Choose Knox Little Athletics Centre at the top of the list.
  • Choose your age group and then complete the declaration page (please read it carefully) and finish off the registration details and pay the fee online.

Please note: Knox LAC does not have the facilities to accept payment of registration fees on the day. Registration and payment of fees must be completed online via the LAVic registration portal prior to competing.

Calendar Dates
First week of Cross Country is scheduled for Saturday the 23 April 2021 at Knox Athletics Track, Bunji, Way Knoxfield.

First race will start at 9.00am

Race Order:
U7&8 1000m > U11&12 2000m > U6 500m > U9&10 1500m >  > U13-16 3000m >

Parent Duty
Parent duty during the cross season is compulsory. Knox uses an online booking system through Volunteer Sign Up. Calendar entries on the Knox Website will contain the link to sign up for duty. Parents can nominate a duty on a particular week. Duty roles include – set up and pack , timing, course marshals etc. Parents on duty will need to check in with the duty manager.

Coaching Update – Monday Training Sessions.

Nathan Dux has advised that he unavailable tonight. There will be no sprint training with Nathan tonight.

Steve Morris has also advised that there will be no Long Jump training tonight.

Other coaches will be running their sessions as normal.

Last Chance To Register for Championship Day

Today is the last chance to register for Championship Day. Entries Close at 11.59pm. Do Not miss Out!

Register your Knox Little Athlete for our final event for Season 2021/2022 – KNOX CHAMPIONSHIP DAY – Saturday the 2nd of April 2022 – 9am to 4pm.

Medals will be presented to the top 3 athletes per age group per event. For athletes aged U6-U8 ribbons will also be awarded to 4th to 8th place.

Conditions of Entry

  • Must be a Knox Little Athlete and have met the qualification requirements (this can be confirmed on the entry portal)
  • Parents must complete a duty on Champs Day for athlete to be eligible to compete (no exceptions).
  • Cost is $2 per event (plus processing fee per entry)Under 6 – Under 11 – up to 4 events. Under 12 -Under 16 – up to 5 events.

HURRY ENTRIES MUST CLOSE TONIGHT AT 11.59PM. No late entries will be accepted.
