If you are an athlete that trains with Nathan for sprints, there will be no sprint training this evening. Nathan will be coaching relays teams getting ready for Box Hill relays.
Box Hill Relays is on this Sunday, 20th November. U9-U17 Athletes competing will need to wear full Knox Centre uniform.

All athletes who are competing at Box Hill Relays must be in full Knox Centre Uniform.
This includes either a Knox competition t-shirt, singlet or crop top along with PLAIN black shorts.
Coles patch must be sewn onto the centre t-shirt, singlet or crop above the little athletics logo.
All athletes must also wear their Commonwealth Bank Name Patch.
Note: U8 athletes competing will be supplied Knox Uniform on the day. U8 athletes do not need to purchase uniform.
At 11 am on 11 November 1918, the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. In November, the Germans called for an armistice (suspension of fighting) in order to secure a peace settlement. They accepted the allied terms of unconditional surrender.
The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month has attained a special significance in the post-war years and became universally associated with the remembrance of those who had died in the war.
The Unknown Soldier
On the second anniversary of the Armistice on 11 November 1920, the commemoration was given added significance when it became a funeral, with the return of the remains of an unknown soldier from the battlefields of the Western Front.
Unknown soldiers were interred with full military honours in Westminster Abbey in London and at the Arc de Triumph in Paris. The entombment in London attracted over one million people within a week to pay their respects at the unknown soldier’s tomb. Most other allied nations adopted the tradition of entombing unknown soldiers over the following decade.
In Australia on the 75th anniversary of the armistice in 1993, Remembrance Day ceremonies again became the focus of national attention. The remains of an unknown Australian soldier, exhumed from a First World War military cemetery in France, were ceremonially entombed in the Australian War Memorial’s Hall of Memory.
Remembrance Day ceremonies were conducted simultaneously in towns and cities all over the country, culminating at the moment of burial at 11.00am and coinciding with the traditional two minutes’ silence.
Today at 11.00am, I encourage everyone to pause and reflect on the meaning of the day and remember all of the men and women of the Australian Defence Force who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

For those heading to State Combined Events this weekend, please note that the duty roster has been finalised and is posted below. Families will have been emailed an updated copy of the timetable and duty roster from Dave Frost, Knox Team Manager. If you do not have the email please check your junk email box.
Updated Duty Roster The roster has been setup so that each family will do similar amounts of time on duty for the days they are at the Combined Event. Please note your duty and time and ensure that you report to our team manager 15 minutes before the start of your duty time. As the duty roster is set, there will be little chance of changing it.
Please note: Parent duty at State Combined Event is compulsory.
Parents must complete their duty at the allotted time. There will be little chance of making changes.
Knox LAC does enforce the policy that any family that does not turn up for duty, or complete their allotted duty, their child will be withdrawn from competition and take no further part.
If for any reason your athlete will not be participating in the State Combined Event – please notify Dave Frost (Team Manager) immediately
Athletes are required to wear Knox Centre uniform, that has the Coles badge sewn onto their uniform top and have their Commonwealth Bank registration patch attached to the front.
All athletes must have the correct registration patch to compete – NO PATCH = NO COMPETE. Please do not forget to bring your registration patch as we will not have the facilities to print a replacement patch.
NOTE: This Friday, during the our Knox Little Ath’s Program, will be your last chance to collect any pre-purchased uniform items.
Call Rooms A Track call room, located near the 100mts start line/VIS building, will be used for all Track events. When called to marshal for any track event, all athletes are to report to the Track call room, and they will be escorted from there to the start of their race. Field events will not use a call room but will marshal at one of three Field Marshalling points: – All Long Jump events will marshal on the outside of the track along the back straight. – Shot Put and Javelin events will marshal just inside Gate 1 near the Canteen. – Discus and High Jump events will marshal outside the track near the 1500m start point. Multi-Class athletes will marshal at the Track call room 30 minutes before their 100m event. From there, our Multi-Class Manager, Richard Colman, will take the athletes to each subsequent event. All athletes must be at their relevant call room/marshalling point 30 minutes before their first event of each day. For subsequent events throughout the day, an announcement will be made when each Age Group/Group Letter is to report to the call room/marshalling points. The timetable is only an indication of the times for each event. It is essential that athletes and parents are listening for all announcements relating to their events.
COVID Whilst the majority of formal Covid restrictions have now been lifted in Victoria, Covid is still present in the community, and some people are more vulnerable to it than others. Little Athletics Victoria asks that you continue to do the following where possible:
Do not attend the event if you are unwell or have been instructed to isolate or quarantine.
Where possible, attendees are asked to maintain at least 1.5m physical distance between themselves and others.
Whilst face masks are no longer compulsory, those that wish to wear them are more than welcome to do so.
Personal hygiene measures such as hand sanitising after touching surfaces and using toilets are essential, as well as observing the cough etiquette to minimise the risk of spreading any droplets.
