State Combined Events – Athlete Information

Good luck to all our athlete heading to State Combined this weekend. All Knox athletes that entered will have received an email from the team managers with the latest information, duty roster, timetable and contact information.

DUTY ROSTER

The roster has been setup so that each family will do similar amounts of time on duty for the days they are at the Combined Event.

Please note your duty and time and ensure that you report to our team manager 15 minutes before the start of your duty time. As the duty roster is set, there will be little chance of changing it.

Please note: Parent duty at State Combined Event is compulsory. Parents must complete their duty at the allotted time.

Knox LAC does enforce the policy that any family that does not turn up for duty, or complete their allotted duty – their child will be withdrawn from competition and take no further part.

UNIFORM AND EVENT REGISTRATION PATCH

Athletes are required to wear their Knox Centre uniform which conforms to the standards as defined in the LAVic Centre Uniform Booklet. Athletes must have the Coles badge sewn onto their uniform top above the LAVic logo and their weekly Registration patch attached to the front.

Please see the Knox Team Manager as soon as you arrive at the venue to have your name ticked off and uniform checked – noting that all visible logos on shorts/bike shorts need to be covered if they are larger than 4cm with black tape so they are not visible. Check by using the 50c test.

If for any reason your athlete will not be participating in the State Combined Event – please notify David Frost (Team Manager) immediately on 0402 900 419 or email cdfrost@tpg.com.au

Please Provide Your Support to the “Bits Are Missing” ShitBox Rally Team – Raising funds for Cancer Council

With the recent passing of Stephen Hough from cancer, Stephen’s Son – Michael Hough and his mate Max Noble have decided to take part in the ShitBox Rally raising funds for Cancer Council.

Bits Are Missing (shitboxrally.com.au)

Michael will be known to many of our families as a Knox Little Athlete, a Coach and Mentor to many of our young athletes.

With Michael’s continued support of Knox Little Aths, we are asking our families to return that support – donate to Michael and Max and to their rally team raising money for the Cancer Council

From Michael and Max (Bits Are Missing shitboxrally.com.au)

We are doing it for Michael’s dad Stephen, who has sadly passed away just 10 weeks after diagnosis. In a full circle moment, we’ve gotten our hands on Stephen’s old 1997 Mitsubishi Magna, and we’ll be racing our way from Bendigo all the way up to Townsville, hoping it stays in one piece.

Shitbox Rally is the largest community lead fundraiser for Cancer Council in Australia and is now in its 14th year. Part of the participation is that all teams have to raise a minimum of $5,000 but most teams raise well above this amount as you can see with the Spring 2024 rally target set at $2,000,000 plus.

These funds go to Cancer Council and we are extremely proud to be doing our part to support such a worthy charity. The fundraising is the hard part, so any donation you can give is greatly appreciated. Please make sure to follow our progress via this page and the blog post below.

We are encouraging all our families to provide support to Michael and Max and donate to the cause.

You can use the link below and click on the Donate button

Michael and Max will be providing regular updates on their rally journey over the coming months.
