Special Meeting Invitation Reminder

Help Us Open Knox to More Athletes!

We’re excited to invite all members to an extraordinary meeting at the Knox Athletics Track Pavilion on Monday, 18th August 2025 at 7:30 pm.

At this meeting, we’ll be voting on an important change to our constitution – introducing a brand-new Affiliate Membership.

What is an Affiliate Member?

An Affiliate membership will allow athletes from other centres to train with our Knox-appointed coaches during our allocated training times.

This means:
✅ Access to our incredible facilities
✅ Coaching from our highly skilled and supportive staff
✅ A chance to bring more athletes and families into our vibrant community

Membership would run September–August, with fees proposed between $50–$100 (final fee to be set in consultation with members).

Why Your Vote Matters

To make this happen, we must have at least 30 adult members present to form a quorum, and we need your YES vote to bring this exciting initiative to life. Without enough members attending, we’ll sadly need to delay this until next season, and we’d hate to miss the opportunity to grow our centre and share it with the broader athletic community.

Join Us and Shape the Future

We’d love for every parent to come along, support this initiative and help us make Knox even stronger. Your presence and your vote will open the door for more athletes to experience the incredible community, coaching and facilities that make Knox so special.

📅 When: Monday 18th August 2025
🕢 Time: 7:30 pm
📍 Where: Knox Athletics Track Pavilion, Bunjil Way, Knoxfield

Let’s make this happen together! 💙💛

Congratulations – Corey Dickson – Team Silver at Uni Games

Former Knox Little Athlete and Australian racewalker Corey Dickson has made his mark on the international stage at the 2025 FISU World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany.

Competing in the Men’s 20 km Race Walk, Corey clocked 1:25:58, finishing 19th overall in a strong field. His performance helped secure silver for the Australian men’s team in the event.

This milestone follows years of dedication to racewalking, with Corey funding much of his journey himself. Representing Australia at a major international event is no small feat, and Corey’s success is a testament to his hard work and determination.

Congratulations, Corey — you’ve done us proud! 🇦🇺👏

Help Support Corey Dickson – 2025 World University Games – Race Walk – Germany

We are reaching out to seek support for Corey Dickson, a former Knox Little Athlete (Wantirna) who has been chosen to represent Australia at the upcoming World University Games. This is a significant honour and a testament to Corey’s years of hard work, discipline, and dedication to his sport.

Corey’s journey started right here at Knox, where he quickly built a reputation as a determined and talented competitor at Knox Little Athletics. His passion for race walking has taken him to national and international stages, and now he has the opportunity to wear the green and gold on one of the world’s biggest university sporting platforms.

But this dream comes with a cost.

Competing at the World University Games requires self-funding for travel, accommodation, and training support. Corey needs our help to get there and do what he does best.

How You Can Help:
We are seeking donations—big or small—to help cover Corey’s expenses and ensure he can focus on his performance, not the financial burden. Every dollar will go directly towards helping Corey represent Australia with pride.

If you’ve watched Corey develop as an athlete or support our young sportspeople, now’s the time to show your backing.

You can donate via the Australian Sports Foundation using the link below.

Donate now and share this message to spread the word.

Donations are tax-deductible

2024 Victorian Sport Awards – VicSport Volunteer of the Year Award Winner – David Kearsley

Congratulations to former Centre President & newly celebrated Life Member of Knox Little Athletics, David Kearsley for winning the 2024 VicSport Volunteer of the Year Award at the Victorian Sports Awards this past Wednesday 14th May, 2025. Jointly presented by the Victorian Government and VicSport, awards presented at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

‘It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my time with the centre, seeing so many athletes come together in one place was incredible, and knowing that I played a part in making it happen was really special,’ -David Kearsley

Nomination notes provided by VicSport

Performing 12 distinct roles at Knox Little Athletics Centre in 2024 including President, Competition Director, Centre Referee, Little Athletics Victoria (LA Vic) photographer and website manager, Dave’s incredible dedication ensured training, competitions, facility maintenance and event coordination all went smoothly. Towards the end of the summer season, Dave assisted LA Vic to move the 23/24 State Track & Field Championships to Knox with only a fortnight’s notice. Coinciding with the coordination alongside Council of a $5m upgrade to the Knox athletics track, this was a daunting undertaking for an event involving 2000+ athletes but ultimately proved a huge success.

David’s decades-long involvement with Little Athletics has provided a strong foundation for his leadership role at the club. He played an integral part in the recent transformation of Knox Little Athletics’ facilities and helped Knox Little Athletics host the 2024 State Championships, welcoming over 2000 athletes from across Victoria.

VicSport Volunteer of the Year

This award recognises the exceptional contribution made by a volunteer to the Victorian sport and active recreation community during the 2024 calendar year. The recipient’s contribution will have provided benefit to, or had a positive impact upon, an individual sport or the industry and their contribution and commitment will have distinguished them from their peers.
