Track and Field State Championship – Important Information and Duty Roster

If you are heading to State Championships this weekend there is some important information that you will need. All families attending the state champs have been emailed by the Team Manager with all the latest information. Please check the LAVic website for any updates here:

Duty Roster
The duty roster has been finalised and can be downloaded below.

Please Note:

  • You must check in with the Team Manager at least 15mins prior to your scheduled duty time.
  • Parent duty at State Championships is compulsory. No Execptions
  • Parents must complete their duty at the allotted time. There will be little chance of making changes. Any complete duty swapping must be done amongst yourselves. Please advise the Team Manager ASAP of any changes to duty.
  • Knox LAC does enforce the policy that any family that does not turn up for duty, or complete their duty, their child will be withdrawn from their events at State Championships and/or not qualify for Knox Championship Day.

If for any reason your athlete will not be participating in State Championships – please notify Janine Kearsley (Team Manager) immediately at registrar@klac23.org.au

Please read the athlete information booklet. It has the relevant information regarding events for the weekend.

Things to note:

  • All athletes must check in with the Team Manager before competing
  • All logos on black shorts bigger than a 50c piece need to be covered up with black tape. Please do this before arriving at the track
  • Coles patches must be sewn on above the LaVic logo on the Knox top. We will have needle and thread for those that have it in the wrong spot, or not sewn on at all.
  • Commonwealth Bank name patches must be worn. Please remember to bring this. We will not be able to print a new on on the day.
  • You must let the Team Manager know if you intend to scratch from an event.
  • The Team Manager is aware of clashes. Please check with the Team Manager as to which event you need to marshal at first, as the rules have changed this year depending on the clash.
  • Please check the final timetable. It is your responsibility to check when your child events are on with the latest time table.
  • Enclosed shoes must be worn when doing duty. No thongs please.
  • Please make sure you have a mask, as you may be required to wear it at any stage, especially if doing duty.
  • The Knox table will be set up at the top of the grandstand approximately midway along the the front straight.

Call rooms and Marshalling

Track Call Room will be located near the start line of the 100m. Call will open 30mins piror to event and close 20mins prior to the event. Please be at the call room 30mins prior to your event start time.
Field Events have 4 different marshal points. Athletes will be called to assemble at one of the marshalling points. Please be at the marshal area 20mins prior to the event start time.
Marshal point 1 – Long jump, High Jump and Discus 1 – 1500m start line
Marshal point 2 – Discus 2, outside warm up track near cage
Marshal point 3 – Javelin and Triple Jump – 200m start line
Marshal point 4 – Shot Put 1 and 2, at warm up ring, outside near gate 1

Venue Access and Entry
Entry to the venue is free all weekend.
Both Gate 1 & 2, will open at 7.00am both days.
Note – The Grand Prix set up has commenced and parking maybe effected.

Knox LAC Track and Field Championship – Registrations are now open!

When: Saturday 25th March 2023 – 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Athletes: Open to eligible Knox Little Athletics Centre athletes ONLY.

Athletes must have participated in a minimum of 50% of available competition days before and after Christmas; OR if registered after Christmas, participated in a minimum of 90% of available competition days.

Qualified? Qualification list will be posted soon.

Registration: Online entry ONLY. Entries Close Thursday 16th March 2023 at 11:59PM.
Postal, late and on-day entries are NOT available.

Cost: $2 per event (Plus processing fee per entry ~$1.10).
U6-U11 up to 4 events. U12-U17 up to 5 events.
Payment by credit card ONLY with online entry.

Parents must do duty for either the full morning or afternoon session.

Failure to do so will result in athletes being removed from events. Please do not ask for an exemption as none will be granted. If you are unable to do duty – or arrange for someone to do it for you – for the full morning or afternoon session, please do not continue with your entry as we do not want to have to remove your child/ren from events on the day.

Please keep a record of the events selected during registration.

The centre does not send this information to athletes, however a list of confirmed athletes and events may be published closer to the event.

Please note: For those athletes that train with Steve Morris for Long/triple Jump, there will be no training on 27/2 or 6/3 as Steve Morris is unavailable both days.

EMR Carnival – Updated Duty Roster And Other Information

If you are heading to the EMR Carnival this weekend there are some important updates that you need to be aware of.

Updated Parent Duty Roster

Some minor changes to the duty roster have been made. You can download the updated duty roster here.

Please note: Parent duty at EMR Track and Field Carnival is compulsory. A reminder that all parents agreed to the condition of undertaking duty when registering.
Note: Knox LAC does enforce the following policy:
If you do not turn up for the duty assigned to you, or you do not complete your duty as required, your child will be scratched from all their events and will take no further part at any regional or state competition.
If you cannot do the duty assigned to you, you are responsible for finding another person to do that assigned duty, and advise the Knox LAC Team Manager without delay of the change.

Athlete Information Booklet

Call Rooms
Separate call rooms for laned events and circ track will be in operation. Athletes need to be at the call room no later than 20 mins before the event

There will be marshalling tents setup for Field Events. Athletes should head directly to the marshalling tents for their field event at least 20mins before the scheduled event time. Please do not go directly to a field event table.

Supervision of Children
All athletes attending the meet must be supervised by their parent or guardian at all times. There is to be no dropping of athletes.

Knox Uniform and Coles Badges

The uniform to be worn is the Knox LAC competition top and black shorts. The shorts are not to have any pockets and brand logos are to be smaller than 4cmx4cm.
Spikes – must not be longer than 7mm. The uniform booklet can be down loaded here which contain uniform requirements and spike requirements.

There should be no Knox LAC athletes without a Coles badge on their top. Please ensure that a Coles badge is sewn on the top right above the LAVic logo.

Do You Need Uniform

If you need uniform for this weekend the very last chance to purchase uniform online is tonight for pickup at our Friday comp tomorrow. Uniform pick will only be available between 6pm and 7pm only. There will be no chance to purchase uniform at the track.

KNOX ATHLETES WILL NEED TO CHECK IN AT THE TEAM MANAGERS TABLE FOR A UNIFORM CHECK WHEN THEY ARRIVE PRIOR TO GOING TO THEIR EVENT

NAME PATCHES.
Please do not forget your Name Patch. We will not have the ability to replace them on the day.

Knox LAC Team Location
The Knox LAC tents will be setup behind the pavilion on the grass area at the 400m start. The team managers table will be set up and parents on duty will need to check in with the team manager 10mins before their scheduled duty time.
