Track availability for mid-week training

Please note that the Knox Athletics Seniors Club have the track booked for training between 5–7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Seniors have been very accommodating and shared the track with Little Aths during these times.

Now, with increased activity at the track, we ask that parents and unregistered children do not use the track between 5-7pm on Thursdays.

Also, junior athletes are asked to use the four outside lanes while the seniors use the inside lanes. Good track etiquette is to allow faster runners to use the inside lanes, while slower runners move to the outside.

Please continue to be friendly to others on the track at all times.

Thank you for your cooperation.

President – Knox Little Athletics Centre

Box Hill Relays – Results‏

Knox and Keilor dominated Box Hill relays this year with Knox finishing on top of the medal tally.

Knox won a total of 32 medals, including 11 gold; that’s twice as many gold as last year, wow!  We would have finished 2nd if it wasn’t for Jaydan Wigney’s blistering pace in the final leg of the U9 boys 800m medley where he passed three other teams on the final lap in the second last race of the day.  Congratulations to Jaydan and the U9 boys on their gold medal win!

Congratulations also to all of the Knox coaches, team manager’s, athletes and families who participated and supported Knox Little Athletics Centre in the lead up and on the day.  It was a massive effort to get 122 team entries in 94 events.

Check out all the great photos on the website.

We’re all looking forward to the Eastern Metro Region relay day on Sunday 23rd November at Doncaster.  It promises to be another fantastic day!

Box Hill Relays Sun 26 Oct

We had a fantastic day at Box Hill invitational relays on today. All Knox athletes participated with the Knox spirit – great sportsmanship, enthusiasm and friendships developed and strengthened. Knox won heaps of medals, too many to mention, and everyone had a great day.

When it started to get hot around lunchtime, competing athletes and friends enjoyed the free ice-poles provided by the Team Managers. Thanks Mirella, Brett and Steve. Karen also helped with fitting out our athletes and coaches in Knox tops on the day.

It was great to see all the parents along the back straight cheering as the athletes ran past. What a fantastic feeling. We even saw the odd tear as we celebrated success with pride. For the people who stayed around for the last two races, we witnessed some of the best runs you’ll ever see. Believe it or not, it was actually the U9 boys and girls who were amazing; the determination especially from our U9 boys team was second to none. How great was the final medal ceremony right at the end?

Thank-you to all the coaches for their time and effort so far.

We also want to thank a very special person, Stephen Hough who setup ‘tent city’ on Saturday, coached the U15’s and U8’s and was Relay Co-ordinator for Knox. Stephen is a fantastic volunteer every other athletics centre would love to have; he does a great job at the track and behind the scenes.

Keep an eye out for all the great photos taken by our Knox photographers on the day.
