Knox Little Athletics will be holding our Chief Officials Training Session this Saturday morning, 12 September, commencing at 8:30 am at the Knox Athletics Track.
This session is a key part of our prep for the 2026–27 Track & Field season, aimed at making sure our Chief Officials are ready to confidently lead events from week one. We’re asking club committees to make sure their chiefs for this season attend.
The morning will provide an opportunity to update and refresh officials on:
- Event rules and procedures, including any updates for the new season
- Knox Centre processes and how we expect events to be managed each week
- Committee expectations for Chief Officials and event teams
- Child Safety requirements and the responsibilities of officials when working with our young athletes
- Event set-up, operation and pack-up
- Managing athletes, parent helpers and event flow
- Ensuring events are conducted safely, consistently and efficiently
Our Chief Officials play a critical role in the successful running of our weekly competition program. Having officials familiar with the Centre’s processes before competition begins helps ensure events run smoothly, athletes receive a consistent experience and our Saturday competition program stays on schedule.
We ask all appointed Chief Officials to attend wherever possible and to come prepared for the upcoming season.
Tryout Day to Follow
Immediately following the training session, Knox will hold our 2026–27 Tryout Day from 10:00 am.
We would appreciate Chief Officials remaining after the training session to assist with running the Tryout Day events and welcoming new and prospective athletes and families to Knox.
