πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒ NEW TO KNOX LITTLE ATHLETICS? – CHOOSING YOUR CLUB 🟑⚫

When registering with Knox Little Athletics Centre, athletes will be asked to select one of our seven independent clubs.

Each club has its own committee and manages the needs of its members, while all athletes compete together as part of Knox Little Athletics Centre.

🟑 Why does Knox have clubs?

With a large number of athletes and families competing each week, our clubs play an important role in helping us manage and run the Centre.

Our clubs help to:

  • organise athletes and families into smaller groups within the Centre;
  • coordinate families to assist with the weekly duty roster;
  • provide officials and volunteers to help run our track and field events;
  • fill designated event official and operational roles each competition day;
  • assist with communication between the Centre and families;
  • support the general management and operation of Knox Little Athletics; and
  • help create a smaller club community within the larger Knox Centre.

Little Athletics relies heavily on volunteers, and our club structure helps ensure the many events and duties required each week are shared across our Knox families.

While athletes represent their individual club during normal Knox competition, all seven clubs work together to operate the Centre and provide competition for everyone.

🏫 Which club should I choose?

Athletes will generally join the club that is aligned with their school. This helps athletes compete alongside friends, classmates and other families from their local area.

The school allocations are:

Boronia Bolters
Bayswater PS, Boronia K–12, Boronia Heights PS, Boronia West PS, St Joseph’s PS and Our Lady of Lourdes.

Dorset Demons
Wattleview PS, Ferntree Gully North PS, Mountain Gate PS, The Basin PS and St Bernadette’s PS.

Knoxfield
Holy Trinity PS, Knox Park PS, Carrington PS, Kent Park PS and St Andrew’s PS.

Rowville
Rowville PS, St Simon’s PS and Heany Park PS.

Rowville Lakes
Lysterfield PS, Karoo PS and Park Ridge PS.

Scoresby Striders
Scoresby PS, St Jude’s PS, Waverley Christian College and Knox Gardens PS.

Wantirna
Regency Park PS, St Luke’s PS, Wantirna PS, The Knox School and Templeton PS.

βœ… The school allocation is a guide and is not compulsory.

If your athlete attends a school outside the Knox area, their school is not listed above, or they already have friends or family in another Knox club, they are welcome to choose the club that best suits them.

No matter which club you join, you are part of the wider Knox Little Athletics community. 🟑⚫
