U6 Program Update – November

Welcome Everyone.
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you of what is happening over coming weeks.
Firstly the U6 program has been running very smoothly with minimal waiting time which is the reason for it finishing before 10.30am most mornings. Generally other age groups would wait between events, as we have the benefit of the Mini Olympics area we can sometimes run a jump and throw down there.
The U6 program will still look to include the Mini Olympics (skills and games) session, a sprint, long jump or a throw. However after Christmas we are looking to add an extra session that will allow the U6s to begin exploring events that they will compete in the following year e.g. triple jump, walks and high jump.
There are some special events occurring in the near future. On December 21st we have Multi-Event Day. The U6s will compete in 4 events which are the events known as Multi Events. They are 100m, Long Jump, Discus and 400m. Points are allocated for each performance and each group has an overall winner.
Once again we would like to acknowledge your assistance, especially when we have dragged you across to help. More hands on deck means the kids get more out of the program.
Please become involved in any way you are able to, especially with the games. Any feedback that will assist your child and your experience to be more fulfilling is most welcome. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions or call to discuss.
Thanking you
Nevenka, Ian, Liz, Katherine & Danny

P.S. Please ensure that the children have hats, drinks and sunscreen especially as the days begin to get hotter!!!!!
