Cross Country Sat 9May Jells Park Nth – PINK day

On Saturday 9 May, athletes and parents are encouraged to wear something PINK and bring along a gold coin donation to raise money for cancer research.

If you’re planning to wear a pink top instead of your club/centre singlet, don’t forget to wear your LAVic patch.

We’ll be running Cross Country at Jells Park North (Enter via Waverley Road, near visitor centre). See you there!

Knox LAC to pink up for breast cancer support

Knox Little Athletics will pink up for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA)’s annual Pink Sports Day on Mother’s Day weekend, 9 May 2015.

Pink Sports Day is an opportunity for sporting groups around Australia to show their support for, and pay tribute to, people in their local community who have been affected by breast cancer.

All money raised through Pink Sports Day will go directly to BCNA to help ensure Australians affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, information, treatment and care.

BCNA CEO, Christine Nolan said Pink Sports Day is a chance for sporting communities to raise awareness and support for local women affected by breast cancer.

“More than 15,000 women in Australia are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. These women – mothers, wives, daughters, sisters and friends – need to know that they are supported,” Christine said.

“By taking part in Pink Sports Day Knox LAC is helping to ensure their local women know that they are not alone in their breast cancer journey, whilst also raising awareness of the support services available.”

We urge the local community to get behind the Knox LAC this Pink Sports Day. We hope that everyone will come together, pink up and get behind our athletes as they run for a great cause!
