{"id":20304,"date":"2026-09-11T08:59:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T22:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/klac23.org.au\/wordpress\/?p=20304"},"modified":"2026-09-09T21:02:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T11:02:09","slug":"%f0%9f%8f%83%e2%99%80%ef%b8%8f%f0%9f%8f%83-new-to-knox-little-athletics-choosing-your-club-%f0%9f%9f%a1%e2%9a%ab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/klac23.org.au\/wordpress\/?p=20304","title":{"rendered":"\ud83c\udfc3\u200d\u2640\ufe0f\ud83c\udfc3 NEW TO KNOX LITTLE ATHLETICS? \u2013 CHOOSING YOUR CLUB \ud83d\udfe1\u26ab"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>When registering with <strong>Knox Little Athletics Centre<\/strong>, athletes will be asked to select one of our <strong>seven independent clubs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each club has its own committee and manages the needs of its members, while all athletes compete together as part of <strong>Knox Little Athletics Centre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udfe1 Why does Knox have clubs?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With a large number of athletes and families competing each week, our clubs play an important role in helping us manage and run the Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our clubs help to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>organise athletes and families into smaller groups within the Centre;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>coordinate families to assist with the<strong> <\/strong>weekly duty roster;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>provide officials and volunteers to help run our track and field events;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>fill designated event official and operational roles each competition day;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>assist with communication between the Centre and families;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>support the general management and operation of Knox Little Athletics; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>help create a smaller club community within the larger Knox Centre.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Little Athletics relies heavily on volunteers, and our club structure helps ensure the many events and duties required each week are shared across our Knox families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While athletes represent their individual club during normal Knox competition, all seven clubs work together to operate the Centre and provide competition for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udfeb Which club should I choose?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Athletes will generally join the club that is aligned with their school. This helps athletes compete alongside friends, classmates and other families from their local area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The school allocations are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Boronia Bolters<\/strong><br>Bayswater PS, Boronia K\u201312, Boronia Heights PS, Boronia West PS, St Joseph\u2019s PS and Our Lady of Lourdes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dorset Demons<\/strong><br>Wattleview PS, Ferntree Gully North PS, Mountain Gate PS, The Basin PS and St Bernadette\u2019s PS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Knoxfield<\/strong><br>Holy Trinity PS, Knox Park PS, Carrington PS, Kent Park PS and St Andrew\u2019s PS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rowville<\/strong><br>Rowville PS, St Simon\u2019s PS and Heany Park PS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rowville Lakes<\/strong><br>Lysterfield PS, Karoo PS and Park Ridge PS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scoresby Striders<\/strong><br>Scoresby PS, St Jude\u2019s PS, Waverley Christian College and Knox Gardens PS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wantirna<\/strong><br>Regency Park PS, St Luke\u2019s PS, Wantirna PS, The Knox School and Templeton PS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2705 <strong>The school allocation is a guide and is not compulsory.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your athlete attends a school outside the Knox area, their school is not listed above, or they already have friends or family in another Knox club, they are welcome to <strong>choose the club that best suits them<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter which club you join, you are part of the wider <strong>Knox Little Athletics community<\/strong>. \ud83d\udfe1\u26ab<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are unsure which club to select when registering, contact the Centre Secretary at <a href=\"mailto:secretary@klac23.org.au\"><strong>secretary@klac23.org.au<\/strong><\/a> and we can help point you in the right direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83c\udfc3 <strong>Registrations for the 2026\u201327 Track &amp; Field season are opening soon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Seven clubs.
