At Knox Little Athletics, we love celebrating the amazing journeys of our athletes \u2014 and few stories are as inspiring as that of Jane Flemming OAM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jane\u2019s athletics journey began right here at Fairpark Little Athletics in the 1970s. Even as a young \u201clittle athlete,\u201d her talent and determination shone through, setting the foundation for a career that would take her all the way to the world stage. \ud83c\udfc3\u200d\u2640\ufe0f\u2728<\/p>\n\n\n

Progressing to senior competition with Knox-Sherbrooke Athletics in the 1980s, Jane quickly made her mark. She won an incredible 13 national titles across heptathlon, hurdles, and sprints \u2014 achievements that placed her among Australia\u2019s top athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her international career was equally extraordinary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silver medal in heptathlon at the 1986 Commonwealth Games \ud83e\udd48<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gold medals in heptathlon and long jump at the 1990 Commonwealth Games \ud83e\udd47\ud83e\udd47<\/p>\n\n\n

Represented Australia at two Olympic Games, competing against the world\u2019s best \ud83c\udf0f\ud83c\udde6\ud83c\uddfa<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remarkably, Jane\u2019s legacy still lives on at Knox. She holds records at Knox Seniors, inspiring young athletes to aim high and dream big.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Off the track, Jane has remained a powerful advocate for sport and community. She founded Flemming Promotions, supports youth health initiatives, and since 2023 serves as President of Australian Athletics, guiding the sport into an exciting future \u2014 including the 2032 Brisbane Olympics \ud83d\udcaa\ud83c\udf89.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From grassroots beginnings at Knox Little Athletics to leading the national athletics body, Jane Flemming OAM\u2019s story is a shining example of what passion, dedication, and hard work can achieve.
