Today, we\u2019re shining a spotlight on a remarkable athlete from our club\u2019s early years \u2013 Astra Vitols, a Knox Little Athletics star whose talent has left a lasting legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the early 1970s, Astra achieved something extraordinary, setting multiple Knox and Centre Records in 1971 and 1972 that still stand today \u2013 53 years later!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfc5 U12G Shot Put: 14.96m (Knox \u2013 set at State Champs)
\ud83c\udfc5 U12G Discus: 36.99m (Knox \u2013 set at State Champs)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At just 21, Astra returned to athletics \u201cjust for a throw\u201d \u2013 and after only two weeks of training, she placed 3rd at the Australian Championships!<\/p>\n\n\n
