It was with profound sadness we heard the news that Stephen had passed away after a short battle with Cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his loving family and friend’s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen\u2019s passing will hit the hearts of many at Knox Little Athletics and within the Little Athletics community. To us, Stephen was a remarkable person and, of course, will be greatly missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen played a major role at Knox for 20 years, contributing to our Centre in every conceivable way. This ranged from committee roles, to competition director and setting up all our competitions, official and referee, timing systems expert to coaching and supporting many of our athletes and families not only during athletics but also in personal ways with support and mentoring when needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen also supported Little Athletics Victoria at regional level and at State Level and also with Athletics Victoria on various committees and as an official for many years. <\/p>\n\n\n

He earned, without any expectation, the respect and admiration of all. He lived his life around a determination that if you can make a contribution for the common good of everyone then do it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This dedication to Knox LAC and Little Athletics saw Stephen awarded life membership of Knox Little Athletics Centre in 2016 and Stephen went on to receive a Little Athletics Victoria Distinguished Service Award in 2023. Stephens dedication to community sport also saw him awarded a life membership to Ferntree Gully Football club with his contribution continuing until just a few months ago. I am sure that there are many others that Stephen helped along the way – just simply because he could help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a personal note, I know that my life has been made the better for knowing Stephen and he will be greatly missed.<\/p>\n\n\n

Our Centre and Little Athletics owes much to Stephen. He was a person who set an outstanding example for us all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our thoughts and prayers go to his family, relatives, and his friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
