{"id":1331,"date":"2014-06-11T19:21:44","date_gmt":"2014-06-11T09:21:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/klac23.org.au\/wordpress\/?p=1331"},"modified":"2014-06-15T19:28:31","modified_gmt":"2014-06-15T09:28:31","slug":"knox-lac-distinguished-service-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/klac23.org.au\/wordpress\/?p=1331","title":{"rendered":"Knox LAC Distinguished Service Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Knox Little Athletics Distinguished Service Award was presented at the centre&#8217;s 2014 AGM in April.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The recipient of this award started over 16 years ago as a Race Walk Coach at Knox Little Athletics Centre.\u00a0 A mother of two young sisters knew that the recipient was a walker and that she had competed at Region, State and National levels.\u00a0 She thought that this person would be an excellent coach for her daughters.\u00a0 Less than a year later, both girls won\u00a0State medals.\u00a0 And so it started.\u00a0 Next was the recipient\u2019s daughter.\u00a0 She coached her to win Nationals and gold in the Pan Pacific Championships.\u00a0 The recipient built her squad over the next years, and now has over thirty athletes, ranging from 6-7 year olds, all the way to U17, U18 athletes.\u00a0 She has developed as a coach and has participated in many seminars, attending AIS training camps, officiating at State, and National events.\u00a0 Her current Qualifications include: A-Grade Little Athletics Race Walking Judge, Race Walking Australia Level B I.A.A.F. International Judge and Level 2 Athletics Club Coach.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong> It gives us great pleasure to award the <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Knox LA Distinguished Service Award to <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Frances Attard<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response, Fran\u00a0expressed her appreciation for the award. She began attending LA 18 years ago and enjoys the pleasure coaching brings her.
