Track and Field runs from September through to April the follow year, and is followed by Cross Country. Early in the season, athletes can also participate in Relays.

During the season open days athletes can compete at open days run by other centres and also have the opportunity to compete in Combined Event competitions.

Location: All normal competition meets are held at Knox Park.

When:

Saturday meets start at 8:30am sharp for all age groups.

Friday twilight meets start at 6.00pm for all age groups.

Saturday and Sunday twilight meets usually start at 2pm or 3pm for all age groups.

Events: Athletes are advised not to specialise. For optimal athletic development, we encourage all junior athletes to train and compete in all events – both track and field. See the program (below).

U6-U7 On track program

Our younger age group athletes participate in the “On track” Program.

“On Track” is an athletic skills development specially designed to provide children in the Under 6 to Under 7 age group the fundamental motor skills of running, jumping, hopping and throwing in a non-competitive environment, whilst also focusing on active participation, learning and improving, having fun and experiencing excitement.

Our U6 – U7 athletes also participate in a competition format similar to the older U8-U17 Track & Field athletes, with events such as 70m, 100m, Long Jump and ShotPut being offered during normal competition days
